About the Artist
Every artwork begins as a single sheet of paper and is transformed by hand into a unique work of art.
I’m Marina, the founder of My Reyzele - a designer and paper artist inspired by the timeless tradition of Jewish papercutting. With over a decade of experience in design, I create original compositions that combine heritage, contemporary aesthetics, and meticulous craftsmanship.
Each piece is thoughtfully designed from scratch in my studio to become more than decoration - a meaningful object that brings warmth, quiet beauty, and a story into your home.
Alongside my paper artworks, I create handmade beaded jewelry - two different forms of handmade expression, connected by the same attention to detail, creativity and love for the process. Each piece is handcrafted in my studio and made to bring a touch of individuality and beauty to everyday life.
Reyzele means “little rose” in Yiddish.
The name carries a special meaning. In traditional Jewish papercutting, intricate floral and circular motifs - often inspired by the shape of a rose - became one of the defining elements of this centuries-old art form.
Jewish papercutting is believed to be one of the earliest papercutting traditions in Europe, with historical references dating back to the 14th century. What once decorated homes and celebrated life’s meaningful moments continues to inspire my work today.
Through My Reyzele, I reinterpret this heritage in a contemporary way - creating original paper artworks that honor tradition while finding their place in modern interiors.
Each piece is more than paper. It is a connection between past and present, handcrafted to become part of someone’s story.
